RULES

1. The Dragon Competition 2024 is open to soloists and ensembles of any nationality without age limit.
Musicians of all instrument types and vocalists are welcome to participate in the Competition, as well as ensembles of any formation.

2. Application shall be made online through this website. The entry fee for "Category A: Soloists" is $85 USD. The entry fee for "Category B: Ensembles" is $55 USD per member. (Example: for duos, the fee is $110 USD, trios is $165 USD, quartets is $220 USD, etc.)

3. Soloists can perform solo or with a pianist at no extra cost. For any other combination of two instruments, please apply for "Category B: Ensembles" as a duo.

4. Contestants who are solo musicians and also part of an ensemble may participate in both "Category A: Soloists" and "Category B: Ensembles." They may belong to multiple ensembles entering in "Category B: Ensembles" as long as each ensemble has at least one different member.

5. The application fee is non-refundable, regardless of contestant withdrawal, disqualification, or failure to submit both their application and video before the deadline.

6. The competition takes place in 2 rounds which will be held in online format.

7. Applications are open until July 1, 2024

8. For the competition candidates shall submit:

  • Biography in English language (PDF file)
  • Photo (JPG or PNG file)
  • Separate links to two (2) videos of contestants' own choice, each between 4 and 10 minutes in length
  • Each video should present one composition only, in one or more movements. Selection or movements of the same composition is also acceptable
  • Music of any genre is allowed
  • Videos have to be recorded in one take

9. In the Preliminary Round, the Jurors will vote independently between  July 2, 2024 and July 10, 2024. Candidates admitted to the Final Round will receive a notification e-mail on July 10, 2024 and will be publicly announced on July 11, 2024.

10. The Final Round will be judged by the Jurors independently between July 11 and July 15, 2024 while the winners will be announced on July 20, 2024 via Competition's website and social media.

11. All applications will be reviewed by the Jury and treated as confidential.

12. The decision of the Jury is final and cannot be appealed.

2 - Prepare your biography (PDF file) and a photo (JPG or PNG file)
